Got it working

Today we got a new fish tank. Besides that and the materials I bought to make some shelves, and all the $$$ we spent on vacation, we have to go into serious frugal mode. Not so much because we don't have the money, but because I want to get the second on the house paid off before long, plus another loan, so all I'll have to worry about is my student loans.

Being responsible with money sucks. :P

It does not help that I've been in serious spendy mode lately... I want power tools (table saw and drill press) all sorts of CD's, and camera equipment. I have satisfied my immediate wants by creating vast gift lists and hoping that between christmas, my birthday, and graduation, I will have a lot of it by next year. Once I am out of school, I will be in sore need of power tools, as I will no longer have access to the shop at school.

I am absolutely dreading going back to work tomorrow... Vacation has made me hate my job even more. I can tell that this is a job I need to leave because I have spent most of this vacation dreading going back.

Movies!

Just to give myself something to look forward to (besides the fact that I have 2 classes with my favorite teacher this semester), a list of movies I am looking forward to:

Corpse Bride - September 23rd
Serenity - Sepember 30th
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - November 18
Rent - November 25
Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - December 9
Memoirs of a Geisha - December 9
The Producers - December 23

Some of them I am sure will be good, others I'm just really, really hoping.

edit- they were all enjoyable.

The show

like every other UNL student with a blog, guess I'll have to weigh in on "Tommy Lee goes to college."

I have to say, I spent most of the show looking for people I know (only one so far, Richard Sutton- one of my first teachers at UNL.) I don't think the show would be nearly as interesting if I didn't live here.

I am dissapointed, because I missed the last 8 minutes of the 2nd show. :P Dumb DVR.

So, I guess that's the review. There's really not a lot to say about it, it was kinda bland even by reality TV standards. I am happy it showed UNL in a good light (probably better than it deserves).

Our laziness in cutting the lawn has earned us a friendly reminder to do that today. Two things I hate about homeownership- Mowing the lawn and shoveling the snow. I love the way they phrase it. We are to get rid of "weeds and worthless vegitation." Ha.
