#LNK Coding Women website launched

For the last few months, a small group of women and I have been meeting to discuss code. We originally got together as a kind of informal support group, but over the months we’ve been talking about formalizing it. We envision some kind of monthly meetings and a website which will serve as a community portal. To further that aim, I have created a #LNK Coding Women website:

This first version of the website is a very simple one page site which is meant to collect some information so we can set up some get togethers and keep people in the loop when we get things going. I have been watching the one page design design trend for a while, but have never had anything that was suited to such a format. For this page, I used Drupal with the Webform module and Chris Wojcik’s single-page-nav script. I admit much of this site is a bit hacky right now, but it is only meant to be a temporary measure until we can get a more fully fleshed out site up.

It was nice to work on a little personal project that I could just get up with little to do.

  1. So awesome! I’ve been seeing women’s coding groups in other cities and wishing there was something in Lincoln.
